PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
Now Hear This Music C.I.C. is a Disabled-led Community Interest Company delivering creative health and music education activities. Our aim is to provide practical music opportunities that promote wellbeing and meaningful inclusion for people of all ages in Portishead and across North Somerset.
By participating in Now Hear This Music C.I.C. activities you acknowledge and understand that:
All instruments, accessories, equipment, furniture, fixtures, and premises used during sessions must be treated used with care and respect, and under appropriate supervision of their caregiver. Any accidental damage should be reported to a member of the Now Hear This Music team as soon as possible.
Now Hear This Music C.I.C. reserves the right to seek reimbursement for damage caused deliberately or through reckless or unreasonable use of equipment, furniture, fixtures, or premises.
With the exception of water in a non-spill container, all food and drink must be kept away from musical instruments. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments for any scheduled breaks.
Our group sessions provide an opportunity to try out new things. Sharing and rotation of our instruments is expected as standard.
Participation is based upon maintaining relationships of mutual respect. Where serious concerns arise regarding behaviour towards participants, volunteers, staff or the organisation, we may ask that these concerns are addressed through discussion before further participation takes place.
Each session is co-produced by everyone in the room. Everyone is encouraged to participate in ways that are appropriate to their own needs, interests, and abilities.
Every person in the room brings equal value to the shared experience. Everyone can expect to be treated with dignity and respect, and for their voice and needs to be heard alongside those of others.
Participants who require one-to-one support in order to participate safely or successfully should attend with a suitable support person, who should remain with them at all times. This enables our practitioners to provide appropriate attention to everyone in the group whilst ensuring that individual support needs are met.
Now Hear This Music C.I.C. offers creative health services and does not provide psychological therapies, counselling, or crisis mental health support. Should it become clear at any time that psychological therapies or other services might be helpful to a participant, the participant and/or their primary caregiver will be signposted to appropriate services.

We recognise that everyone's needs are different. If difficulties arise, or if the needs of different participants become difficult to balance within a group setting, we will discuss this with you as soon as reasonably possible. Together we will explore whether reasonable adjustments or alternative arrangements can enable continued participation while maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for everyone.
We are committed to making reasonable adjustments wherever possible. Occasionally, the needs of different participants may conflict. When this happens, we will work with those involved to seek solutions that balance individual needs with the wellbeing, safety, and inclusion of the wider group.
